In collaboration with several teams of academic researchers, we began this project with the hope of defining areas where the existing evidence about best policies and practices is clear, as well as generating a research agenda for the future.
To do so, we commissioned seven white papers from experienced scholars throughout the country. Each white paper covers an area of administration that is critical to the convenience, security, and accuracy of elections in the United States; they map out the state of the field, empirical claims about where consensus on best practices exists, and the remaining critical questions that would close the gap between scientific knowledge and needs in the field.
